Does a juice fast help cure stage 4 lung cancer?

It will most likely not help (unlike its something like cucumber and kale with 0 sugar and virtually no calories), most likely the sugar in there will help the cancer to continue to flourish, depends a lot on the current diet and weight etc. Most likely it will worsen it, if it is fruit based, canceling the good effects of fasting.

Stage 4 is not about helping the body a little, the body has already lost a lot of ground and you need to help it not only fight back with some organic juices.

Classical chemo does only one crude part, it hurts all cells, just that cancer cells get hurt a lot more and by that indirectly giving the body a chance to heal, just you hurt the rest of the body so much as well. Thats why cancer often 'heals' after chemo and then relapses years later... because it wasnt extincted, just reduced in numbers.

Having said that, fasting is a good idea. If I was faced with it I would try a strictly ketogenic diet with reduced calorie amount and intermittent fasting. You need to supplement middle chain triglycerides to get some energy for your body however, because you will have to work out a lot as well to drive ketones up.
But, Cure is a bad word if you're not a doctor.

However, aid/replenish/nutritive support is an excellent term for helping the body combat any stage of cancer and the raw resources provided by a stable juice-fast has benefited people for ages with a variety of chronic, degenerative diseases.  Of course, the ideal would be circumnavigating a crisis like this, but so few of us can even smell smoke to a house fire that it is unlikely juicing would prevent a damn thing.


With all of the (mis)information available to us and "Juice Fasting" being the new methodology, I would turn to trusted sources of guidance.  In my case, that would be the Christopher Hobbs approach with integrative therapies.  Andrew Weil is another one that has published a lot of his findings and specializes in nutritional therapies.

Whatever the juicing may be, please see that you do it yourself with fruits/vegetables that have a low sugar impact on the bloodstream (not to be confused with hypoglycemia) and make for minimal digestive work for the body.  This will allow for the immune system to go into 'damage control' [the real purpose behind fasting/juicing] and eliminate byproducts and wastes that are taxing for your recovery.
